Case Study 8: Cementitious Mortar
This food processor was looking for a quick turnaround as well as very high wearing characteristics. Working around the clock, we installed the system and returned the space to service in 36 hours. The existing coating was removed with both shot blasting and diamond grinding. The underlying concrete was then given a heavy profile by aggressive shot blasting. The application of cementitous mortar was installed and finished with a non-skid urethane wearcourse. The numerous attributes of cementitious mortar make it an excellent choice for multiple applications. It is resistant to high levels of MVT (moisture vapor transmission), withstands repetitive wash downs, is impact resistant (malleable), thermal shock resistant and longwearing, as well as providing a quick application that allows a fast return to service. Dur-A-Flex products were used.
